Conversation Hearts

I think these cookies are much tastier than the real conversation hearts...these can be customized with any phrase (well, almost, please keep it 'G' rated, I have a Kindergartner starting to read everything)

Pearls

This is a cookie outlined in sugar pearls. The picture didn't quite capture the total effect. I'll have to talk with that photographer of mine :)

Smileys

Isn't it funny how when you first look at a smiley face on a cookie, you smile :)
Hoping your day is filled with smiles!

Glittery

What lady doesn't like a little Bling? I just love how these came out. I'm off to the store tomorrow to get some pink and yellow 'glitter'. I used silver on them, which looks white, but I think the actual icing color looks better.

Polka!

Polka dots.

These are not my favorite, they looked better in my mind than this end product. They have promise, but a little tweaking is needed.

Elegance

A touch of elegance.

Who needs roses?

A cookie bouquet is a beautiful thing.

Wrapped Up

All wrapped up and ready to go!

Yankee Cookies

Happy Birthday Gary!

Sweet Pea's birthday

These are cupcake toppers I made out of cookies. The presents were a little big, but the kids didn't mind, ha.

Sweet Pea turns 4! My beautiful princess!
These are cookie princess wands for Sunday School. I think there were a big hit!

Christmas Cookies

Hap-BEE Birthday

These were inspired by polkadot zebra on Flickr. Thanks for the inspiration!

Hap-BEE Birthday Mrs. Hinton!!!

Christmas Pops

These are the famous cake pops made ever so popular by Bakerella. She does amazing things...like inventing these cake pops. I just copied her directions and they came out beautifully (but a lot more work than I had expected, plan on a few hours making these).

Here they all are ready to go to Sunshine's party at school. I got a little lazy and didn't wrap ribbon around the bottom, but it was actually a blessing I didn't expect. These were for a kindergarten class and I don't think any of them would have been able to get the ribbon off.
These are cookie minis I threw together last minute. I had hoped to get them all iced for the party, but I just ran out of time and this had to do. They still tasted yummy!

So I'm a little late getting these pics up. We went to Texas for Christmas and time has just gotten away from me. I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas and I wish each of you a Happy and Blessed New Year!

Christmas Party

These were for our Sunday School party this weekend. Thanks for the great time everyone! The ornaments were inspired totally from Sweet Sugar Belle. Her cookies are gorgeous and amaze me every time.

My little ones insisted on modeling the cookies. I think they made the cookies look better, don't you?

Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving! These were inspired by Pam over at Cookie Crazy. Her turkey's are sooo cute. I found them in the nick of time. I thought I had a turkey cutter and didn't. She used a flower cutter and cut the bottom off...Brilliant!!!

Parker

Congratulations Jason and Kristy! Parker is beautiful!

Cowboy Day

Happy Cowboy Day EWA! Several years ago EWA celebrated Mr. Smith (the Headmaster) being recognized as the charter school principal of the year by having its very own Cowboy Day. Mr. Smith is a true blue cowboy (if you really know him) and it was a great event. So great that now the school celebrates it every year as a character development day. All the students get to dress up...it's a great day! This year I made cookies for Sunshine's class. I'm pretty pleased with them. I was inspired by a member of Flicker and I'm so sorry I can't find their name.

Have a great weekend!

Happy Birthday Mom and Dad!

I made these for my parents for their birthday's, October 16th and 18th. I can't say they turned out as well as I had planned. I now know there is a reason most cookie decorators don't use white as the base color...I've never had cookies bleed on me like these did. I think it might also have something to do with being rushed and not letting the white set long enough. Anyway, here they are.

Thank You!

Craigslist is becoming my new best friend. I only had a small hand mixer (up until now, it was all I needed), but with the mixing required in royal icing, I needed something more high tech. Kitchenaids were only a dream...have you seen the price tag on one of those in the store?!? However, I started looking on craigslist and in just a few weeks, the Lord blessed me with this! Isn't it beautiful?!? I was blessed with this for only $80. I couldn't believe it. It works great! Thank you Karen of Cary for such a great find and thank you Lord for always providing beyond our dreams.

Caramel Apple Cake

Cakes aren't normally my thing. Well, let me rephrase, I love eating cake, but making, eh, not so much. This is in part to having a Mom who makes the most delicious cakes ever (and a Dad who makes a too die for pound cake).

However, I stumbled upon this and decided it looked good enough to try.

I kept to the basic recipe, but heeded a few of the reviewer's comments.

I used a bundt pan instead of a sheet ...chopped the apples instead of slicing them...and used a combination of cinnamon and nutmeg for the spice. We also used vanilla ice cream instead of the cool whip/icing combo.

It was fantastic! My only question now is...would it be better with apples chopped in the cake instead of on top?

Baseball

I have to confess, I'm not much of a baseball fan. I love basketball and football, I'm sure it has nothing to do with not being able to hit that blasted ball with a long wooden stick when I was a kid. Anyway, I am not a big fan, but I have family who are and they mostly love the Red Sox. I had some extra icing so I tried my hand with these. I'm pretty pleased with the baseballs...the "B" on the other hand, needs a little work. Have you ever tried to free hand the 'B' for the Red Sox? WOW...that is some serious detail in that one lone letter.

Birthday

Happy Birthday Isaac!

Fall is coming

I'm so excited the cooler weather is here. I love fall...bye bye bugs :) I wanted to play with a couple of ideas and came up with these this weekend. I didn't have a candy corn cutter and realize my improvising skills need a little work (I have since ordered a candy corn cutter :). These were for practice, so they're not perfect, but I learned the right and wrong with these and am ready to perfect them next time.
